South African History Online (SAHO) was established in 1998 and registered in June 2000 as a not-for-profit Section 21 organisation. SAHO has, over two decades, become the largest and most comprehensive online site on South African and African history and culture. The Saho people speak the Saho language as a mother tongue. They are principally concentrated in Eritrea, with some also living in adjacent parts of Ethiopia. Ancient Saho speaking people are descendants of ancient Kushites.
